Parent Teacher Conferences
A reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences starts Tuesday, October 14, and run through Friday, October 24, with early release each day at 1:45pm for grades 1-5.
Fall Book Fair + Family Fun Night
Step right up and grab your ticket to read at the Scholastic Fall Book Fair! The greatest show of books is rolling into town and the fun begins at Family Fun Night on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 4–6 PM
Book Fair Carnival will be open:
* Friday, October 17, 2025: 11:15 AM – 2:30 PM
* Monday, October 20 – Thursday, October 23, 2025: 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Come one, come all to the AOE Auditorium and find your ticket to adventure! There’s something for every reader under the big top — from thrilling tales to laugh-out-loud stories!

Copa de Carlsbad
Attention 5th graders! Tryouts for the 2025 Copa de Carlsbad AOE boy and girl soccer teams are Wednesday, October 15 & Thursday, October 16, 2:30-3:30 pm!
Meet at Aviara Community Park soccer fields after school’s early release, and don’t forget a water bottle cleats, shin guards and soccer ball.
Our teams will compete in the 2025 Copa de Carlsbad Soccer Tournament, scheduled for November 20! The event allows the nine Carlsbad Elementary schools in the district to compete in an action-packed, one day tournament.

Father Daughter Dance
Get your tickets before the clock strikes midnight! Our Fairytale Fling dance is Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 5:30-8pm, at Sage Creek High School.
Knockout Carlsbad pizza will be joining to sell slices plus complimentary desserts from Get Mini Donuts and Hollywodd Candy Girls!
Purchase tickets here! Pricing is $40 per couple, $10 for each additional daughter, and keepsake pin is available for purchase for $5.

NOTE: While the evening is designed around “Dad and Daughter Date Night” advertising, all daughters are welcome to invite any adult chaperone of their choosing. They could also come as a guest with another group. We respect all families without fathers at home, and thank those fathers that miss this dance due to deployments in military service to our country.
Father Daughter Dance Volunteers Needed
Help make an enchanted evening even more magical! The Father Daughter Dance team is in need of volunteers to help before, during, and after the Fairytale Fling on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Sage Creek High School gymnasium.

Unity Day
October is National Bullying Prevention Month and Unity Day is just around the corner, Wednesday, October 22. We are asking our AOE community to wear orange on Unity Day as a show of support that we at AOE are "united" in fostering a kind, inclusive, and bully-free school!
Restaurant Night
We hope you can join us for a Restaurant Night at Chick-fil-A Carlsbad West on Thursday, October 23, from 4-7 pm!

Reflections
The AOE PTA is excited to announce our participation in the annual National PTA Reflections Arts Program for 2025-2026! The theme for this year's submission is "I Belong”. Artists in TK-5th grade are encouraged to enter.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 24, 2025. We will accept submissions in all art categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts and Special Artists.

One World Fair
AOE is thrilled to host One World Fair on Thursday, December 11, 2025!
Our goal is to showcase as many cultures as possible so that every child and family can see themselves represented. Whether through food, music, art, dance, clothing, traditions, or stories, each contribution will help create a meaningful experience for our students.
We're seeking family volunteers to help make our upcoming Multicultural Fair a vibrant success by sharing your cultural traditions. You can support in the following ways:

Lunchtime Club Parent Volunteers Needed: If you are interested in volunteering your time and sharing your passion or talents during different lunch periods, please send a Parent Square message or email to our counselor, Mrs. K at olivia.kleinrath@carlsbadusd.net. We are looking for parent advisors for lunchtime clubs. Last year we hosted a Craft Maker’s Table for 1st and 2nd graders, Chess Club for 4th and 5th graders, and a Beading, Weaving and More Club for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, and this year we're excited to see what clubs we can offer thanks to all of you who would like to volunteer. What about a Throwback Games Thursdays Club…anyone open to jacks, checkers, double dutch, hand games, and kendamas (is that old school already?)
