AOE PTA is excited to participate in the annual National PTA Reflections Arts Program for 2026-2027. This year's theme is "What My Culture Means to Me," and submissions are due October 24!
We will accept art in the following categories: Dance, Film, Literature, Music, Photography, and Visual Art.
Be sure to read more about the rules and requirements for each category and see below for tips to help you get started. We can’t wait to see how our AOE students express what culture means to them!
Reflections Volunteers Needed! We’re looking for volunteers to help collect artwork, set up the Reflections Art Show, and break down after the event. If you can lend a hand, we’d love your help! Please email reflections@aoepta.org.

Creating Your Title & Artist Statement
Working on your Reflections entry? Don’t forget — every submission needs a unique
title AND an artist statement!
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Your statement should be 10–100 words and written in the student’s own voice.
Not sure what to write? Think about:
• What inspired your artwork?
• How does it connect to the theme?
• Why did you make the creative choices you made?
• Is there a personal memory, tradition, or cultural connection behind it?
• What do you hope people think or feel when they experience your work?
TITLE TIPS:
Choose a title that helps tell the story of your piece. It can be specific, playful,
meaningful, or descriptive — but don’t simply use the Reflections theme as your
title. Most importantly, let your child’s creativity and voice shine! Adult guidance should be
minimal and non-artistic.
