School Hours
Kindergarten hours are:
Early Birds 8:15am - 11:35am
Late Owls 10:10am - 1:35pm
All Early Bird Days for 2023-2024
For special events, we combine the Early Birds and Late Owls as one cohesive class. We will also do this for some of the days during parent-teacher conferences, because it allows for more flexible scheduling to meet with each family.
Mark your calendars for the following dates:
- Fall Conferences October 18, 19, 20 (Wednesday-Friday)
- Halloween Tuesday, October 31
- Thanksgiving Party Friday, November 17
- Winter Party Friday, December 22
- 100th Day of School Friday, February 2
- Coastal Roots Field Trip Tuesday, March 12
- Spring Conferences March 20, 21, 22 (Wednesday-Friday)
- Science Day Thursday, April 18
- End of Year Thursday, June 6 (Last Day of School)
Late Owl Parents: Please plan ahead for these dates, especially if you need to make special arrangements for drop-off and pick-up. We will send out reminders, too!
**Kids Care will be aware of these dates, and will accommodate the change in schedule for Late Owl students who already attend Kids Care.
AOE Meet & Greet: August 2023
This is the school-wide welcome event for the 2023-2024 school year. Students will learn who their teachers are and pick up spirit wear.
Parking and Walking
- While many parents choose to park and walk our smallest students onto campus, after the first week of school they will be able to navigate from the drop off curb to their classroom on their own.
- Drop Off and Pick up is a great time to meet other new parents at AOE. If you plan on being on campus, be certain to sign in at the office. This is for safety reasons.
- Do not park and leave your car anywhere along the curbs in the morning or afternoon as you will block the flow of traffic for all other students. Park on Ambrosia Lane and walk in. They U parking lots are for staff parking only. See more on parking lot guidelines here.
- You must come to the Kinder gate at pick up. Teachers will not release students into the parking lot on their own.
Going to AOE is Fun
As kindergarteners, you are welcomed to join all the fun PTA puts on during the school year from the Meet & Greet to the Variety Talent Show and so much more.
- Join PTA - After you register, you will have the option to join PTA for $15. PTA is a framework that helps us grow the kind of community influence we need to support every child in our sphere of care - and help our students reach their potential. We invite you to join us this year and hope you will!
- My Volunteer Interests & Skills -Volunteering at Aviara Oaks is largely coordinated through the PTA and we would LOVE to serve with you! Tell us how you would enjoy being involved at Aviara Oaks and we will try to get you plugged in. When we each do a little - using talents and abilities we have -it's amazing what we can do together!
- Stay Connected with the Eblast and Facebook. A weekly summary of what's going on at school, sign up for the Eblast to have a smooth and informed first year. If you have questions or want reminders on your newsfeed, follow our PTA on Facebook and Instagram @aoepta and join our Closed Facebook Group, search AOE PTA Parent Chat.
