General Association Meeting

Mark your calendars! Our first General Association meeting of the new year is Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 8:45am, via Zoom. Please note, this meeting is only Zoom (no Teacher Lounge) and at 8:45am in order to let everyone settle in after drop-off!

To join the PTA Meeting you need to register in advance, after you register you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining this meeting.

Also, please take a minute to make sure you are a member of the PTA Association. In order to be an active participant in our PTA, each person must join the PTA Association annually. You need to be an active member in order to attend the meeting on Wednesday (or any other meeting until the dues are paid). THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT! Here is the link to join. Variety Show

Mark your calendars because the countdown to liftoff has begun! Our 2026 "Out of This World" Variety Show will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in the AOM Auditorium.

 

Variety Show Dates to Remember: 

Dress Rehearsal: Wednesday, January 28 

School Performance: Thursday, January 29 8:30am (check in at 8:00am)

Public Performance: Thursday, January 29 6:00pm (check in at 5:30pm)

Compassion Day 

We are seeking event volunteers for Compassion Day on Friday, February 6. 

 

Compassion Day is designed to allow students to experience how others with disabilities, either physical or learning, navigate their world through hands-on activities. We will have stations for:

• Vision Impairment
• Hearing Impairment
• Mobility/Fine Motor Impairment
• Sensory Processing Issues
• Neurodivergence

5th Grade Promotion Fundraiser - Family Fun Night

Join us for a Family Fun Night with the San Diego Sockers on Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 PM. Grab seats near Mel Montoya and come cheer with us!

Jogathon

 

Lace up, Eagles! Dash over to register your runners for our 2026 Jogathon on Thursday, February 26.

 

Each year, AOE hosts the annual Jogathon, bringing in 1/3 of our specialty teacher salary funds. Last year, $97K was raised for our school!

 

Be sure to check your student backpacks for the Jogathon trifold and get started by registering your runners. Register your runners here and be sure to check out our Jogathon page for more information, including run times, prizes, and incentives. Keep sending those emails/texts and follow along on social media for campaign updates and reminders! When a class reaches 80% registration, the teacher earns a prize and the class enjoys a popcorn party the week after the event.

SPED Playdates

SPED Kind Connections Playgroup will be coming to AOE's playground on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 3-4 pm! All students are invited to this fun parent-led event featuring games, music and dance, and social and inclusion opportunities.

Musical Production of The Lion King Jr.

Congratulations to the cast of The Lion King Jr!

 

Rehearsals with the entire cast are every Tuesday and Thursday, after school until 4pm, in the AOE Auditorium. 

 

The Lion King Jr. team is looking for donations to help bring the production to life. If you have any of the following items, please dropped off before or after rehearsal time in the auditorium. Any help is greatly appreciated!

AOE Yearbook

Yearbook Photo Submission Guidelines

We’d love your help creating a yearbook that reflects our entire school community. Please follow the guidelines below when submitting photos:

 

✅ High-quality photos only

Clear, well-lit images work best. Please avoid blurry, dark, or heavily filtered photos.

✅ Group photos preferred

Photos with multiple students are encouraged whenever possible. Images where children are looking at the camera are ideal.

✅ Choose your best photos

Please do not upload multiple versions of the same photo. Select 1–2 favorites per moment or event.

✅ Upload to the correct folder

Be sure photos are added to the appropriate class, grade, or event folder in Google Drive.

✅ Help us represent everyone

We aim to include as many students as possible. Please be mindful to submit photos that show a variety of children—not just the same few faces.

✅ Candid school moments welcome

Classroom activities, field trips, performances, assemblies, spirit days, and school events are all great submissions.
