Aviara Oaks proudly supports the Carlsbad Christmas Bureau each year with the Adopt-A-Family Project, providing gifts to one needy Carlsbad family for every class during the Holiday Season.
Each classroom is assigned a family, and buying groups are created by student number. While your student is assigned to a buying group, participation is optional. The CCB will make sure recipients receive gifts as long as they are properly labeled.
Fliers go home in late November and gifts are due in early December. Watch the Eagle Express and Eblast for information about this year's Adopt-a-Family.

Fifth Grade Events
The end of Fifth Grade is one of the most exciting points of your elementary students' school career. AOE parents plan a week full of fun to commemorate the milestone and celebrate your 5th grader. These events take place toward the end of the school year.
Our kindergarten fun team plans events for our youngest students throughout the year. Check your email for the latest happenings!

Moms and sons get to enjoy special time together at our mom and son event. Past events have included soccer games and laser tag.
If you are interested in volunteering as a part of the Musical Planning Committee, please contact us! We are looking for members interested in designing and building sets, assembling props, creating/teaching choreography, attending rehearsals to help teach music and staging, handling communications, managing snack sales, and many other functions. Auditions occur in the fall and the musical takes place in the spring.

Reflections Art Program
National PTA hosts the annual Reflections Art Program, which provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
Science Day is all science, all day for all students! We will turn each classroom into a lab room and students will spend the day rotating through four different hands-on, STEM based activities. Science Day is proudly sponsored by your AOE PTA and funded in-part by a grant from the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.
All students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in AOE's Annual Science Fair. Participation in the science fair stimulates a student’s interest in scientific investigation beyond what is taught in the classroom. Through research, experimentation, visual exhibits, and presentations, the science fair offers students a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills. The Science Fair is proudly sponsored by your AOE PTA and funded in-part by a grant from the Carlsbad Educational Foundation.
All students in grades 1-5 are invited to participate in AOE's Annual Spelling Bee. The spelling bee is an excellent way for AOE students to participate in a fun competition and stretch their spelling skills. This event takes place March 1 and 2. Click here for more information!
