Reflections Art Program
2023-2024 REFLECTIONS ART PROGRAM |
The AOE PTA is excited to announce our participation in the annual National PTA Reflections Arts Program for 2023-2024! The theme for this year's submission is "I Am Hopeful Because…"
The deadline to submit has been extended to Friday, November 3.
We will accept submissions in all art categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts and Special Artists.
Artists in Kindergarten- 5th Grade are encouraged to enter.
Use this link for more information regarding submissions. Please note that only new pieces of artwork inspired by the current year’s theme may be submitted.
All artists will receive a ribbon, and their work will be exhibited for the Aviara Oaks community. Winners will be announced for each category. GET CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!
How to help your child enter reflections:
1. Talk about the prompt: "I am hopeful because..." Younger children might need a discussion around the meaning of the word "hopeful."
2. Give your child time to brainstorm different ideas. Use this link to check out last year's winners. All ideas and art need to be generated and created by the student, without parent help (besides logistics and supplies).
3. Give your child ample time to create their art! They may need help collecting supplies or planning logistics. Encourage them to take their time and make multiple drafts if necessary.
4. Once the art has been created, your child will need an adult to help upload images of their art into the Entry Form. Please note that an adult email is needed. Once art has been uploaded, please keep the art safe at home, until you hear from the reflections coordinator. She will confirm your submission and arrange for you to drop off the physical art to the office for exhibition.
5. Wait to hear the results! We will have multiple opportunities for your students to be recognized for their art. We will reach out to you with details. While there will be winners for each category, all students will be celebrated for their hard work.
6. You CAN submit multiple submissions.
7. Submissions are currently being accepted. Third party experts in their field (visual art, dance, film, literature, music comp, photography) will be judging the art. We can't wait to see your student's creativity.
